ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
The Orange County Sheriff's Office was serving a warrant on a man when he barricaded himself in a home in Pine Hills.
Brett Yarborough, 27, was in a home on North Nowell Street near West Colonial Drive but was talked out after a two-hour standoff, officials said.
"He was wanted on violation of probation charges, and also he was suspected of making threats against law enforcement officers," said Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings.
Officials said they were serving a felony warrant on him when he posted a threatening message toward them through social media.
Adult family members were in the home with Yarborough, but were able to get out, according to officials.
Investigators said the family members told them that Yarborough was armed with an AK-47.
"There's no question it was a serious situation for us. We knew by individuals who had been inside the home with him that he was reportedly armed with an AK 47 assault rifle, so that's what made it a dangerous situation," said Demings.
Yarbrough has a history of violence on law enforcement officers and is a former member of the military, according to officials.
"He has been arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer previously he has some other violent arrests as well," said Demings.
The SWAT team was called to deal with the incident with surrounding homes being evacuated and a nearby school was put on lock down.

Man who killed Selene Trujillo-Ramirez's dog is Brett Yarborough. Please ask the Sheriff's Dept why they didn't prosecute this very dangerous man. Animal cruelty is a felony and they need to enforce the law.
