they are all gone... far easier to find a scout of this era than a chief....

the 71 bmw 2002  was originally a 1602,, previous abuser loaded a 2002 engine in it ,,n stuck the first 2 pistons in molasses like oil ..

soaked the cylinder block from the top pistins w Marvel Mystery oil  for 6 weeks , every day adding a ml of MMO.. frozen stuck on first 2 cylinders,, using a post hole digger n a large tree bransh n slamming the pistons finnally got movement n freed em up ... this is what happens when u decide its cheaper to not change your oil on a regular basis ,,then soaked each piston in MMO for another month in coffee cans to break loose the frozen rings ,, cooked n glued in place,,,

.... now reassembly n load engine back in,, take alotta fotos ,, i had bought 2 other engines but they turned out to be hydraulic clutch engines not manual ,, so im staying w manual 4 now...

the former owner had a pick up truck load of parts he hoarded for 2002 cars,, what floored me is how he lost the title n keys yet hoarded a mountain of parts... theres no figuring ppl out........all the window rubber is toast ,, brakes r shot ,,, you can do anything ,, just break it down into smaller projects ,,,,,

the fun never ends ..fixing 11 yr old hot water heaters

this 11 yr old GE constantly dripped out a gallon a day for a month suddenly ,, note the el cheapo plastic made in china water drain valve ,,,turn gas off .. turn water off  drain  water heater,,, the plastic drain valve was fixed so i couldnt remove it w/out damaging water heater.. ideally buy a water heater w a 3/4 brass water spiget,,never buy one w a plastic..turns out $6 bucks worth of rubber gaskets failed.. so u could never turn it off... same rubber gaskets in hot cold water tub shutoffs that when they fail u swap out..the plastic drain valve failed n handle broke off so i torqued it closed n added the 3/4 brass spiget shutoff ,more fun when the pilot light wouldnt light...i pressed the gas valve to pilot position 5 minutes n hit the igniter button as many times as i could to get it to spark.. .............simple $6  fix vs paying someone $300.........and of course nothing on the internet to explain this style problem,,,,,no debris in water heater,,,,,,,very surprising..lots of good utubes on anything but failed rubber gaskets  n hitting the igniter as many times as possible to get it to spark,
